HT Studio 20 and HT Club 40 receive Guitarist Choice Awards
May 2010
The HT Studio 20 and the HT Club 40 are the latest Blackstar products to receive the Guitarist choice accolade. Reviewer Nick Guppy introduces the amps by stating, ‘With stellar tone and smart prices, the HT Venues are about to shake up the mid-price market....’ Both amps received 5 stars for build quality and value for money. Guppy concludes, ‘The HT Venue Series has set a benchmark for affordable performance. Plug in today as soon as you can.’ For the full review check out June Guitarist Magazine issue 329.

the ht series are a great addition to blackstar line up,my ht20 studio combo, has beautiful clean's and the gain channel is just like my old jcm800 sound, something i could not find in other amps was the fender clean and marshall crunch all in one amp.

Thanks to the good idea of having combine EL34 and standards 12ax7...i think they really have follow their idea to NOT do what have already been done.
Next step will be to change your speaker or is it good enough ??
Re: HT Studio 20 and HT Club 40 receive Guitarist Choice Awards
What speaker came with the HT-20 combo aussie2009?
My HT112 cabs came with Seventy 80's. I'm not a huge fan of them but as they break in they're sound not so harsh and gravelly.
I will look at changing them down the track when my bank account get's over the recent slog of buying the amp and Maton recently

ht 20 studio combo has a 12" celestian rocker 50,quite a nice sound for this model i think!
in your rig i would look at vintage30,or one of the eminence ... http://eminence.com/guitar.asp?speaker_size=12

I don't have a lot of experience with dedicated electric guitar amps, yet alone different speakers to use in them - so I rely a lot on reviews, video comparisons and peoples impressions.
It would be nice to have the resources to be able to test out every potential speaker in my own cabs in my own environments but that's not going to happen!! LOL!
I'm going to go be splurging out on anything for a while anyway so plenty of time to research and look around.

Have you see this video ?

And on the Weber site (https://taweber.powweb.com/weber/) you can find very good (and real) descriptions on the different speakers. They are making reissues of all the best big brand speaker on earth so you'll find one to fit your sound. Even if you after choose the real one.

yeah that 15 speaker demo has been the main one I've been looking at... it's great to hear them all in comparison in the same controlled environment.
I'll check out the Weber site too. Thanks for the link!
