So what's everyone been up to?
Hi all... pretty quiet on here of late - how is everyone? Keeping busy I guess! I know I have been.
We have another small gig coming up end of this month so been busy learning some new songs and practicing for that, on top of busy work and family life. Haven't done any recording of late either...
Picked up a new piece of gear for the studio the other day though so trying to figure it all out - (half the fun for me is in the learning new stuff - at the moment it's trying to understand midi!) It's an AKAI MPK49 midi/usb controller. I've been wanting to add a full sized (full size keys that is) keyboard to the studio for a while now and figured this looked pretty good. I had been using a little AKAI LPK25 up till now which served it's purpose to get me into MIDI sounds but 25 keys is just not enough and my fingers are too big for it!!
I use Logic Pro 9 and the MPK49 doesn't have any presets for it though (didn't realise when I ordered it) so I'm having to map all the functions manually. Bit of a pain but seems to be working okay for now.
Anyway, let us know what's happening in your neck of the woods?

Thanks for sharing the pics... sounds like it was a good getaway.
Being a full time dad brings back some memories! My wife earnt more than me at the time we had Esther (now nearly 9) so I quit my job and stayed home to look after her while Gail worked (nurse). It was interesting (she was only a couple months old!) but great though as I have a really close bond with Esther now which I missed out with on the other kids.

but my wife has never liked the plain white P/G and wants me to send off and have 1 custom made, either black paisley or brown tortoise shell.......i'll post pics when it arrives and I have everything installed.

It WAS called the SX (brand) SJM (model) '57 Vintage White....
It's now called the SX Liquid.
I bought it brand new from Rondo Music (rondomusic.com) the source for Agile guitars.
It was $139.99 USD and an incredible value !!!!
The only drawback is that the stock P-90's are a bit noisy for my likings.
It comes in several colors, fretboards,p'up configurations, and tailpieces.
